Gallery Solace - The Great War 1914-1918

In only singling out those individuals who were awarded the Victoria Cross in the “First World War” by no means diminishes the bravery, verve, and sacrifice of those who served at the front of whatever nationality. On the contrary, the combatants of the ”Great War” often performed supreme acts of unimaginable heroism, self-sacrifice, courage, dogged determination, loyalty and comradeship that we now find impossible to comprehend in these modern times with out
acknowledgment and awards.
